Change in Coordinator

Amanda Franklin has taken over from Cathy Veldhuyzen as full time Coordinator. Cathy left in December 2009, both due to family reasons and as an aim for the centre to be a fully Indigenous run centre. "After almost 8 years at the Port Lincoln Aboriginal Community, I felt sad to leave but confident in Amanda's ability to run the centre well, with her skills as administrator, her talent as an artist and her ever increasing knowledge of Indigenous art"

Kuju's funding

Kuju's funding to DEWHA was successful but on a reduced amount. Amanda will continue as full-time while Cathy has cut her hours back to 2 days a week. There may be an opportunity for other programs to utilise Kuju ie Youth, Womens, Health and Educational specific projects which will inject much needed funds into Kuju. Several projects are coming up 'Mana Wellbeing expo' and TAFE's 'TRIC' expo in which Kuju will have displays. Workshops with the Elders will recommence in 3rd term and some of the school workshops run by Amanda. Our opening hours are remaining the same - 10am to 4pm.
